We work closely with educational institutions, technical schools and universities across Europe, where our distillation equipment is used for both training and research purposes. Over the years, we have also built a growing network of reference locations, where owners of our equipment are happy to share their experiences and discuss the spirits they produce. Through our distillation courses, seminars and reference visits, we aim to create opportunities for both existing and prospective distillers to learn from real-world experience, exchange ideas and gain practical knowledge about distillation and the operation of our equipment. Whether you are already an experienced distiller or just beginning your journey, these events provide a unique opportunity to ask questions, see the equipment in operation and learn directly from fellow users and industry professionals.
Highlights from the Distillation Course in Styria, Austria (18 October 2024)
In October 2024, we spent a wonderful, educational, and enjoyable day at Haissl Farm in the Murtal region of Styria, Austria, situated at an altitude of 1,060 metres. Many proud owners of the TOTEM 95L column still, as well as several prospective customers interested in the system, participated in our distilling course.
Participants were welcomed with traditional Hungarian pogácsa, while our host prepared an excellent apple mash for the practical demonstration.
During the distillation process, our Managing Director, with the assistance of an interpreter, introduced the individual components and functions of the equipment and explained the technical background and principles of distillation. All questions raised by the participants were answered by our distillation experts.
The event also provided an excellent opportunity for customers to exchange experiences with one another and discuss their practical use of the equipment with fellow distillers. At the end of the course, participants had the opportunity to taste the freshly distilled spirit. The farm shop was also open, offering fresh bread, homemade honey, and spirits for purchase.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our host, Martin, for his warm hospitality and to all participants for the enjoyable conversations throughout the day. It was a pleasure meeting everyone in person. We wish all TOTEM 95L owners many successful and enjoyable distilling seasons ahead!
